Mission Hills is a community in San Diego, California. It is located in the hills south of the San Diego River valley, north of downtown San Diego next to Old Town and San Diego Bay. It was divided in 1908 as a smaller part of what is recently known as Mission Hills.

Schools in  Mission Hills belong to the San Diego Unified School District.  There is no public high school in the community, students are given the choice of enrolling to The Gary and Jerri-Ann Jacobs High Tech High Charter School, San Diego High School, Point Loma High Schooland High Tech High Village in Point Loma.

Many private and religious schools are situated in Mission Hills. The well known school is the lower school campus of the private Francis Parker School, built in 1912.

Modern properties were established around the canyon during the 1950s and 1960s by architectures such as Homer Delawie, John Lloyd Wright, Lloyd Ruocco, and Sim Bruce Richards, among others.
